Posted on October 27, 2011, in EDL News, with 7 CommentsBirmingham Demonstration – 29/10/2011
The demonstration will be held on Centenary Square on Broad Street – probably the most famous street in Birmingham!
Coaches and minibuses should head to Bridge Street, B1 2JZ, which is opposite the demonstration location. Please be there for around 11.30am.
Train passengers should get off at New Street Station Birmingham and use the back entrance at Hill Street where you will be met by EDL stewards and police. It’s been agreed by police that there will be two double-decker buses available from 11.00am till 1.00pm to take all train passengers to Bridge Street. You will then be able to meet up with everyone at socialise on Broad Street.
For motorcycle members there is free parking at the demo point for you. Head to the demo point and ask for Steve English or one of the head stewards and you will be shown where to park. There is space for about 50 bikes
For members traveling by car there is multi-storey car park, prices vary from £3.60 to £6.00 so please check the link for details.
The car park 1,2 and 3 on Tennants Street B15 1EY are the best ones to use.
Pubs will be open on Broad Street for us to use from 10am and O’Neill’s will open at 12 midday. There will be EDL stewards and a police presence at the pubs. At 12.50pm stewards will escort members to the gathering point
At 1.10pm all EDL will gather at Revolution Bar 218 Broad Street B15 1BL.
At 1.20pm all EDL members will walk to the demo point where we will be greeted by the legendary Tony Curtis. There will be several speeches. The demo will start at 1.45pm and finish at 3.30 to 4.00pm
After the demo, the buses for train passengers will be on Bridge Street opposite the demo area to take you back to New Street.
We all know this demo has been a nightmare to pull off and we have been messed about from day one. This is not the bobby on the street’s fault but the hierarchy of the West Muslim Police force and Birmingham council. We ask you all to co-operate with the EDL stewards (who are all EDL volunteers) and also with the normal bobbys on the street. Let’s have a great day and show Birmingham that we can peacefully protest – unlike how the lefty media and council portray us.
We say again, please respect the stewards and the police on the street. Our problem is not with them.
Regards,
West Midlands Organisers
